Treatment Programs

A full continuum of evidence-based care for lasting recovery.

MDCR Rehab offers comprehensive treatment programs designed to meet each individual where they are. From medical detox through outpatient care, our clinical team provides personalized, evidence-based treatment at every stage of recovery.

Medical Detox

Medical detoxification at MDCR Rehab is the first measurable milestone in your recovery. Our physician-led team provides 24/7 monitoring, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and individualized tapering protocols designed to manage withdrawal symptoms safely and as comfortably as possible.

Detox typically lasts 3 to 7 days, depending on the substance and severity of dependence. Throughout the process, nursing staff track vital signs, hydration, pain levels, and psychological distress at regular intervals. Patients are never left to endure withdrawal alone — clinical staff are present around the clock.

Once medically stable, patients transition directly into residential or outpatient care with a personalized plan already in place. Detox at MDCR Rehab isn't an endpoint — it's the launchpad.

Residential Treatment

Our 30- to 90-day residential program immerses patients in a structured therapeutic environment where every hour has purpose. Living on-site in our 52-bed Gilroy facility, patients engage in daily individual therapy, group sessions, psychoeducation lectures, and experiential activities — all calibrated to produce measurable behavioral change.

The residential track is built on the patient-transformation model: we don't simply remove substances from your life — we help you build the cognitive framework, emotional resilience, and practical skills that make sobriety sustainable. Family therapy sessions occur weekly, ensuring that the people who matter most are part of the recovery process from day one.

Outpatient Program

MDCR Rehab's outpatient program is designed for patients who have completed residential treatment or whose clinical assessment indicates they can recover effectively while maintaining daily responsibilities. Sessions are available during daytime and evening hours, 3 to 5 days per week, for 8 to 12 weeks.

The outpatient track mirrors the rigor of residential care in a flexible format. Patients participate in group therapy, individual counseling, Motivational Interviewing sessions, and relapse prevention planning. Progress is tracked through weekly clinical evaluations, ensuring that the treatment plan evolves as you do.

For those stepping down from residential care, outpatient serves as a bridge — reinforcing new skills in real-world conditions. For those entering treatment at this level, it offers a structured foundation without requiring a pause in work, education, or caregiving.

Dual Diagnosis

Nearly half of all individuals with a substance use disorder also live with a co-occurring mental health condition — anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or others. At MDCR Rehab, we treat both conditions simultaneously through our integrated dual diagnosis program, because addressing addiction alone while leaving mental health untreated is a formula for relapse.

Our psychiatric team conducts comprehensive assessments during intake and designs a coordinated treatment plan that weaves together medication management, trauma-focused therapies like Somatic Experiencing and EMDR, and evidence-based modalities including CBT and Family Therapy. The result is a unified clinical approach where every intervention supports both recovery and mental wellness.

Patients in the dual diagnosis track participate in specialized group sessions that explore the relationship between emotional triggers and substance use — building self-awareness that becomes a lifelong protective factor.
